The project is led by Orbital Assembly Corporation, founded by former pilot John Blincow, with construction expected to start in 2026.
Voyager Station will accommodate 280 guests and 112 crew members, offering an out-of-this-world experience. The design will mirror that of a luxury Earth hotel, featuring warm, soothing suites, stylish bars, and restaurants, with space-themed dishes like freeze-dried ice cream. Recreational activities will be designed to take advantage of weightlessness, allowing guests to do things like jump higher, lift objects, or run in ways impossible on Earth.
The physics behind the space station are similar to spinning a bucket of water. As the station rotates, it pushes the contents toward the perimeter, creating artificial gravity at the outer edges.
While room rates haven't been released, the cost of staying at Voyager Station will likely be high. For context, Virgin Galactic charges $250,000 per person for a trip to space. However, the goal is to eventually make staying at the hotel as accessible as purchasing a cruise ticket.
